About the Octave Band Analysis Option (730-OB1)
The Octave Band Analysis (OBA) feature on your Spartan 730 allows you to analyze the measured noise exposure in full octaves. Industrial Hygiene professionals sometimes use octave band analysis when measuring personal noise exposure. Octave bands allows you to see the frequency composition of a sound. Among other uses, studying the frequency composition of measured noise can help you determine the most appropriate type of hearing protection for the specific noise frequencies shown.
