Under the normal noise measurement standards, the maximum calibration interval for test equipment is: Sound Level Meters – every 24 months Sound Calibrators – every 12 months These periods are the recommended maximum intervals but it is the user’s responsibility to decide the calibration interval for each piece of equipment. Most customer’s stay with these recommended periods.
UKAS calibration essentially provides an additional layer of formal verification and accreditation on top of traceability. The choice between the two typically depends on your specific requirements, whether you need formal accreditation for regulatory compliance, and your budget constraints.
Yes. Collection and return options are available. Request a calibration quote or book a collection and provide details of the equipment you need calibrated.
We collect from anywhere in mainland UK. However, we are unable to collect from construction site addresses.
Yes. Our calibration services are not limited to the manufacturers we supply. We support equipment from a wide range of manufacturers and regularly calibrate both current and legacy instruments. Send us the manufacturer and model and we will confirm capability.
The equipment shown on this page represents our main calibration capabilities rather than every model we can accept. If your instrument is not listed, send us the manufacturer, model and quantity and our laboratory team will check it for you.
UKAS accredited calibration is carried out within our accredited scope and is issued under our UKAS accreditation where applicable. Traceable calibration provides measurement results traceable through appropriate reference standards but is not necessarily covered by our UKAS accredited scope. We can advise which option is appropriate for your equipment.
No. UKAS availability depends on the type of instrument, model, measurement parameter and our current accredited scope. Where UKAS calibration is not applicable, we may be able to provide a traceable calibration instead.
Yes, where compatible. Depending on the equipment and required method, we can calibrate individual microphones, preamplifiers, sound level meters and complete acoustic measurement chains.
We calibrate most professional Class 1 sound level meters and many Class 2 instruments. Capability for Class 2 equipment can be model dependent, so please send us the make and model for confirmation.
Yes, for SITMA we also include the speaker directivity test requirement. We support a range of equipment used for building acoustics and sound insulation testing, including compatible sound level meters, analysers, calibrators, microphones and tapping machines. Send us your equipment schedule if you would like us to review a complete test system.
Yes. We support compatible hand arm vibration and whole body vibration measurement systems, including many professional meters and small accelerometers. Capability depends on the instrument and sensor combination.
Yes, we can support a range of professional environmental monitoring instruments. Because these systems vary considerably between manufacturers, send us the model and sensor configuration so we can confirm the appropriate calibration method.
Yes. We regularly handle multiple instruments and complete equipment fleets. Providing a full equipment list in advance allows us to review the required calibration type and plan the work efficiently.
Please provide the manufacturer, model, quantity and, where possible, serial number of each instrument. It is also useful to tell us whether you require UKAS accredited or traceable calibration and whether the equipment is needed back by a particular date.
Expedited calibration may be available depending on the equipment type and laboratory workload. Tell us your required return date when requesting a quote and we will confirm the available options.
Calibration certificates can be accessed through our online Certificate Portal where applicable, allowing you to retrieve records without relying on paper copies or individual emails.
Tell us the instrument type, manufacturer, model and quantity you need calibrated. Our team can confirm capability, certification options and the next steps.
