Questions & Answers

Frequently asked questions

Do you calibrate sound level meters you did not supply?

Yes. Campbell Associates calibrates a wide range of manufacturers. Send the make and model and the laboratory can confirm the appropriate service.

Do you calibrate both Class 1 and Class 2 meters?

The site can state that Campbell supports Class 1 instruments and most professional Class 2 instruments, with the exact certificate option dependent on model and scope.

Can you provide UKAS calibration?

UKAS accredited calibration is available where the instrument and required measurements are covered by Campbell Associates’ current UKAS scope. Traceable calibration may also be available.

Can you calibrate the microphone as well as the meter?

Campbell’s published capability includes measurement microphone calibration and complete MicSet calibration for compatible systems.

What if the microphone is not removable?

Use a model-dependent note. The laboratory may be able to calibrate the complete instrument configuration, but the available tests can differ from a removable microphone system.

Can you calibrate older or discontinued meters?

Often, yes. Capability depends on condition, connection, microphone/preamp configuration and whether the required tests can still be performed.
