What a calibrator does...

Use a handheld acoustic calibrator (also known as a sound level calibrator) to produce a known sound pressure level at a known frequency. This level can then be used to adjust your sound measuring equipment to measure more accurately, since microphone performance can vary with weather conditions. This process, commonly known as field calibration or acoustic calibration, is typically performed both before and after every measurement.

The Larson Davis CAL1250 is the definitive Class 1 battery operated calibrator. Designed to meet the stringent requirements of UK noise regulations and IEC 60942 standards, its dual output levels (94 dB and 114 dB at 1 kHz) and multi-frequency 251.2 Hz ± 1 Hz or 1000 Hz ± 1 Hz.

It's robust, portable design is built for the rigours of UK field environments, providing a dependable tool that streamlines your workflow and guarantees the integrity of your acoustic measurements, project after project. The four combinations of frequency and level make the CAL1250 a great choice for extended field validation of instruments.

Lightweight & Easy for Calibration Anywhere

The CAL1250 includes a rugged carrying case but fits in any case designed to include the CAL1150 or CAL1200. Adapters for 1/2” and 1/4” microphones are included with optional adapters for 3/8” and 1/8” microphones available.
