NorReview: Reference Tone & Playback

The Nor1026 NorReview Software is for post processing and reporting of your Nor139, Nor140, Nor145 and Nor150 measurements.

This articles covers reference tone settings used to reference the correct audio playback level for the listener.

Requirements

NorReview software must be installed.

Nor140 or Nor145 or Nor150 instrument with audio recording.

How it works

The reference tone is a sound recording made on the device by pressing the CAL button. It’s an internal sound linked to the internal gain and input sensitivity of the microphone. The sound recording has a continuous pink noise sound level of around 70dB which can be played back through the speakers or headphones as the reference level. The sound recording when played back is pink noise or similar to a radio frequency noise.
