Dust & Noise Monitor Guide

The DM30N is a dust & class 1 noise measurement device which is intended for use in situations where you need reliable dust & noise measurements and measurement in accordance with the standards BS-5228-1 & ISO-9613 and mCERTS certification by the Environment Agency, with the minimum amount of effort and compensation for humid and foggy conditions where inheritantly dust monitors with out heated inlets will measure water as dust and skew your results negatively.

Local Measurement Data

Data saves internally to the monitor and once a cloud connection is established, the data is sent and processed in our cloud system to give you real-time access and alerts via SMS and Email depending on the user preferences.

The unit can be setup to measure dust PM10, 2.5 and 1 sized particles. The unit can log in 1 minute intervals up to 1 hour. This unit is mCERTS certified as per the requirements of the environment agency for indicative monitoring, to be used in construction and demolition environments.

The unit can be setup to measure sound Lmax LAeq L10 L90 with A or C weightings. The unit can log in 1 minute intervals up to 1 hour. Octave and thirds can be collected on a device enabled with the frequency option. Audio recordings can be captured on the device and uploaded to the cloud for Automated Noise Identification with the Audio Capture option with pre and post trigger settings available in the menu.

Enable low power mode and limit the WiFi hotspot period from always to a time you wish to set to save power. Simply reset the device to reissue a WiFi hotspot period.

Cloud Based Login

You can login to your Sonitus Cloud portal anytime to access your noise monitor and download your readings. Visit app.sonitussystems.com

Calibration

The unit operates a serviceless sensor, simply return the unit once every two years for factory calibration and replacement of the optical counter.

Power Options

The monitor will accept mains power, solar or battery power. It can run for up to 1 week from a 200 aH battery.

110 or 240 volt 16 amp mains

110 or 240 volt 16 amp power through the left male socket. 

Peak draw 30 watts with an average power draw of 25 watts. 

Battery or Solar

12 volt through the right sealed connector. Peak draw 30 watts with an average power draw of 25 watts.

Mounting & Fixing Options

The monitor can be mounted easily outdoors using its weather protected enclosure. For example it can be mounted on a hoarding, wall or pole easily and quickly.

Hoarding

Tools Required

  • 2 x Jubilee Clips (70-90mm)
  • Sturdy post for mounting (tripod can be provided)
  • Mounting bracket (provided)
  • Security Torx screwdriver bit (T25 size)
  • Philips and flathead screwdrivers

Unscrew the mounting pin, found on the bottom of the monitor.

Tighten the jubilee clips around the tripod centre post and insert into the tripod. Always install the monitor with the inlet facing up. 

Wall Mounting

Fix the bracket tot he wall first using the open holes and screws.

Pole Mounting

Secure the jubilee clips to the back of the bracket and then simply tighten to a pole and attached the monitor.

Secure the monitor with the remaining locking screw.

Wall Mounting

Fix the monitor to the wall (or hoarding) using 4 screws & 4 heavy-duty wall plugs if required. Ensure it is firmly in position with the screws as shown below.
