Noise Meter Guide

The Nor140 is a Class 1 measurement device which is intended for use as a handheld measurement device.

Local Measurement Data

Data saves internally to the meters 2 GB Transend Industrial card and supports up to 16 GB.

The instrument can measure parameters such as LAeq, Lmax, Lmin, Ln, Lpeak in A, C & Z weighting with octave and third octave logging and logging down to 25 ms.

The instrument is powered by 4 no. AA batteries which will power the the device for up to 8 hours.

Download Utility Software (NorXfer)

The instrument uses NorXfer for transfer of the measurement data to excel.

Reporting Software (NorReview)

The instrument uses NorReview for reporting and recalculating measurement data. A licence is required to operate the software.

Calibration

To calibrate your noise monitor you will need either a 94 dB or 114 dB calibrator with a 1/2 microphone input or adapter. Place the calibrator on the end of the microphone and navigate to the calibration panel. The approximate sensitivity is around -26 dB typically.

Calibration is required every two years for the instrument and every one year for the calibrator which can be done in our accredited UKAS laboratory.
